My name is Kimberly Palacios-Rolston, I am a lifelong educator.
My teaching career began at the Rosarian Academy in 2001 where I spent 14 years there mastering the Montessori model - a child-centered educational approach that values the human spirit in the development of the child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities.
I received an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Montessori track, an Associate Early Childhood Credential from the American Montessori Society, and an International Montessori Teaching Diploma. Aside from Montessori training, I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in the Philosophy of Education from Liberty University. I will be defending my dissertation in February 2025. I have a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Southeastern University and a Bachelor's Degree from Grace Christian University in Leadership and Ministry. Throughout the last two decades, I have been entrenched within the Nonprofit community in Palm Beach County. For the last 25 years, my husband and I have worked closely with local non-profit organizations that serve children in difficult situations throughout South Florida. Working closely with partnership organizations throughout Palm Beach County, such as the Center for Family Services of the Palm Beaches and Little Smiles, Little Smiles aims to provide "smiles" to children struggling with medical needs, mental health challenges, and environmental challenges such as poverty and parents experiencing substance abuse.
In addition to these organizations, my passion for providing educational opportunities for children and teens who are considered "at risk" led me to sit on the City of West Palm Beach's Educational Advisory Committee. Aiming to impact those students who are greatly at risk of gang involvement and substance use, the Educational Advisory
Committee allowed me to provide my expertise. As an advocate to help children in need, I volunteered to spearhead City Life Church Capital Campaign. For 5 years, I have served as an advocate to help historically underrepresented students with their education by raising funds to build them a new school. These students typically come from a life of substance abuse, poverty, and/or trauma. I also served on the Board for Back to Basics - a non-profit that provides a one-on-one educational experience conducive to each individual's learning style, regardless of age.
The mission is to inspire personal growth, build self-esteem, and support learning goals. Lastly, I was an Ambassador for Take Stock in Children for five years non-profit organization in Florida that provides a unique opportunity for deserving, low-income youth to escape the cycle of poverty through education. In 2015, I left the day-to-day teaching to build a daycare and school for pregnant and postpartum women who battle with substance abuse at Gratitude House as their Director of Childcare. Upon completion of my mission, I moved to the Drug Abuse Foundation in Delray Beach where I continued my work advocating for children born into substance abuse. I am thrilled to return to my first love, as a Montessori Educator, and share my passion and enthusiasm for learning as a new Board Member for American Montessori International, USA.
After reflecting on my journey and accomplishments, I am truly excited about the opportunity to be part of this new Leadership Team for the 100+ Women Who Care Jupiter/Tequesta Chapter. I look forward to contributing my experience and passion to such a meaningful organization, and to work collaboratively with all of you to make a positive impact in our community.
